A new blend for 2011, Wild West is a traditional western style of cider made from 5 cider varieties of apples; mainly bitter sweet and sweet cider fruit with about 8% sharp to help it keep and counter the tannins.
It is a dry cider, with a full measure of tannin coming from the fruit and little acidity - making it drier and more full bodied than the other 146 ciders
All the fruit for this blend come from the Strong Orchard, just north of Bridport.
At the Bath and West Show in 2011, Wild West was awarded 'Highly Commended' in the Dry Farmhouse Cider category.
Wild West 2010 was made up of the following:
• Desert Fruit –0%
• Cider Fruit –92%
• Sharp (Culinary) Fruit –8%
This came from the following varieties:
• Bramley (to make up 8% sharp)
• Chisel Jersey
• Harry Masters Jersey
• Michelin
